Why does others peoples armor look ugly in-game
All my settings are on high. My armor looks very good, textures are as they should be, but others armor look..ugly, like no texture, blurry.
Whats up with this? |

this should only happen in a town or outpost. If you go out to an explorable with another person their armor should look just as nice as yours.
basically it amounts to a feature to save low-end computers from having a heart attack in a town by having to render all these nice sets of armor everyone is wearing. it also makes things load faster for all involved. Last edited by Vesio; Feb 04, 2009 at 08:17 PM // 20:17.. |

As Vesio stated, some armors have a lower quality version when you are running around in town.

With a nice little disclaimer: Texmod is not needed for these mods. Be aware that this is a third-party fix, and if problems are caused, official Support will not help you. Use at your own discretion. |

Yeah, you can always disable it by modifying the settings it creates for you, so you can still have the sound effects and disable the textures; the vice-versa is also true.

Yeah, KSMod is almost obligatory for the game. I can't, one, imagine why they ever opted for the low res textures in the first place and, two, they haven't made it an option by now.

Why would they opt for the low res textures in the first place? If you stuff max people into an outpost and run the game on a low-end computer, there's your answer. This thread ended with KSmod.

Game is 4 years old. Today's "low-end" was the high end when it was released.

I tried KSMod and I recommend it to everyone. It didn't even touch my FPS!
